Your Xenling
Xenling is Physarum polycephalum, a living slime mould. The alien identity is our playful story. Cultures naturally vary in colour, shape and growth. The Starter Kit includes the specimen and vial, care guide, food, a 0.3 ml pipette, and alien substrate powder. Your selected options determine whether the culture arrives active or dormant and dry, and whether prepared agar gel is supplied. The pictured maze and experiment dish are not included.
For Great Britain, choose an active culture or a dormant dry culture, and prepared gel or Alien substrate powder. International orders contain a dormant dry culture with Alien substrate powder. A dormant culture is still a viable living organism. Follow the supplied care guide. Do not eat it or release it into the environment.
Your Xenling comes in a random colour. For United Kingdom orders with prepared gel, the gel also comes in a random colour.
Price and payment
The Starter Kit costs £9.99. Delivery is charged separately and shown before payment. QODE LTD is not VAT registered and does not add UK VAT. Prices and availability shown at checkout apply to that order. Payment is processed by Stripe for QODE LTD; you do not need a Xenling account, and we do not receive your full card details.
International delivery charges depend on destination and quantity. Any packaging fee is added once per order and included in the delivery charge shown before payment. Import taxes, customs duties and postal handling fees may apply. The destination and postal service determine how these are collected, which may be before dispatch or at destination.
Enter your delivery address on Xenling and check your product choices, email and address in the review before continuing to Stripe. The delivery address is fixed for that payment session; return to the product page before paying if you need to change it. If a genuine pricing or availability error prevents fulfilment, we will contact you and arrange a correction with your agreement or refund any payment for the affected goods.
Orders and delivery
Delivery is available to England, Scotland and Wales and the international destinations shown in the product page selector. Northern Ireland and BFPO delivery are currently unavailable. If your destination is not listed, we cannot accept an order for it at present. Available services may change, and customs processing may add time to international deliveries.
Successful payment is confirmed with an order reference. Keep a copy of your order details and these terms. You can check order status with your order number and email. See our shipping and returns page for dispatch, delivery and cancellation information. A delivery estimate is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date.
Cancellations, faults and returns
You can contact us to cancel before dispatch. Our returns policy explains cancellation and return arrangements after delivery. If anything arrives damaged, faulty or different from its description, contact us so we can put it right. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Privacy and questions
Our privacy notice explains how order information is used. Optional analytics is controlled through cookie settings. Please contact us first about any concern. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without removing any mandatory consumer protections or court rights that apply where you live.
